Meeting the 007 film stars

Over the past few years I have had the pleasure in meeting some of the stars of the James Bond films. Where I can I always try to get them to sign something relevant to the film they appeared in. Below are some of the stars I've been lucky enough to meet.

Meeting Phil Méheux who was the director of photography on both GoldenEye and Casino Royale. I met Phil at the Bondstars 60 Years of Bond event held at Pinewood Studios on 14th August 2022 and got him to sign my event programme.

Meeting Joseph Millson who was played Carter in Casino Royale. I met Joseph at the Bondstars 60 Years of Bond event held at Pinewood Studios on 14th August 2022 and got him to sign my event programme.

Meeting John Richardson who has worked on eight official Bond films in the special effects and miniatures department throughout the Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan films and also won an Oscar for his work on Aliens. I met John at the Bondstars Making Movie Magic event held in his honour at Pinewood Studios on 10th November 2019 and got him to sign my event programme.

Meeting Chris Corbould who has worked on numerous Bond films in the special effects department and has been the special effects supervisor on all of the Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig films. I met Chris at the Bondstars Making Movie Magic event held at Pinewood Studios on 10th November 2019 and got him to sign my event programme.

Meeting Corinne Clery who played Drax's personal pilot Corinne Dufour in Moonraker at the London Film Convention on 7th July 2019. I got her to sign the UK version of the Moonraker soundtrack LP. She was delightful.

Meeting Toshiro Suga who played Chang in Moonraker at the London Film Convention on 7th July 2019. I got him to sign my UK Moonraker souvenir cinema programme. He was quiet, but very welcoming.

Meeting Papillion Soo Soo who played Pan Ho in A View To A Kill at the London Film Convention on 7th July 2019. I got her to sign my Japanese A View To A Kill souvenir programme. She was lovely and we had a good chat.

Meeting Jean-Pierre Castaldi who played the jet pilot from whom Bond steals the parachute from in the pre-title sequence of Moonraker at the London Film Convention on 7th July 2019. I got him to sign my Japanese version of the Moonraker theme single. A gentle giant of a man, who happily talked to the people in front of me in the queue of how great it was to work with Roger Moore and Richard Kiel.

Meeting Alison Worth a two-time Bond girl who has appeared as one of the pool girls in For Your Eyes Only and an Octopussy Circus girl in Octopussy at the London Film Convention on 7th July 2019. I got her to sign my Brazilian version of the Octopussy theme single All Time High. She was charming and very easy to talk to.

Meeting Vanya Seager who appeared as one of the pool girls in For Your Eyes Only at the London Film Convention on 7th July 2019. I got her to sign my US version of the For Your Eyes Only soundtrack LP. A very pleasent lady and this was her first ever signing event.

Meeting Bogdan Kominowski who played the KGB agent Klotkoff who Mayday lifts above her head in A View To A Kill at the London Film Convention on 7th July 2019. I got him to sign my German version of the A View To A Kill theme single. A nice man, but I fogot to ask him what it was like to work with Grace Jones!

Meeting Britt Ekland who played Mary Goodnight in The Man With The Golden Gun at 'An Afternoon With Britt Ekland' held at Hush in London on 6th April 2019. I got her to sign a Japanese copy of The Man With The Golden Gun theme song cover version by The Ventures. You can find my full report of the event here.

Meeting Nadja Regin who played Kerim Bey's mistress in From Russia With Love and Bonita in Goldfinger at the Classic Bond event on 24th September 2017. I got her to sign a From Russia With love EP. A lovely lady.

Meeting Norman Wanstall who has worked in the sound department on five James Bond films from Dr No to You Only Live Twice and won an Oscar for his work on Goldfinger at the Classic Bond event on 24th September 2017. I got him to sign my event programme. An amazing guy, we sat and talked with him for half an hour about all things 007, sound and just life in general.

Meeting Caron Gardner who played one of the pilots in Pussy Galore's Flying Circus in Goldfinger at the Classic Bond event on 24th September 2017. I got her to sign a copy of the Goldfinger theme from the Netherlands. A very pleasant lady.

Meeting Alan Tomkins who served as art director on five James Bond films at the Classic Bond event on 24th September 2017. I got him to sign my event programme. A lovely guy, although I don't get to talk to him for very long.

Meeting Francesca Tu who played Osato's secretary in You Only Live Twice at the Classic Bond event on 24th September 2017. I got her to sign a copy of the You Only Live Twice theme from Japan. A very sweet lady.

Meeting Paul Weston who has served as a stuntman on various Bond films as well as having a very small part in The Living Daylights at the Classic Bond event on 24th September 2017. I got him to sign my event programme. Such a great guy and a pleasure to meet the man who utters the famous line 'Hold on, you're dead' to Timothy Dalton's Bond!

Meeting Bill Cartlidge who served as an assistant director and later associate producer on all three Lewis Gilbert directed Bond films at the Classic Bond event on 24th September 2017. I got him to sign my event programme. A very funny guy who had plenty of stories from his time working on Bond.

Meeting Peter Lamont who has served as a draughtsman through to production designer on 18 Bond films at the Classic Bond event on 24th September 2017. I got him to sign my event programme. A fascinating guy and it was a pleasure to talk to him about his career, not only on Bond, but with James Cameron and finally winning the Oscar for his work on Titanic.

Meeting Luciana Paluzzi who played Fiona Volpe in Thunderball at the London Film Convention on 16th September 2017. I got her to sign a Thunderball souvenir brochure from the US. She was charming and really surprised to see so many people queued to get her autograph.

Meeting Martine Beswick who played Paula Caplan in Thunderball at the London Film Convention on 16th September 2017. I got her to sign a French copy of the Tom Jones Thunderball single. She was fabulous and really easy to talk to.

Meeting Deborah Moore who played the airplane stewardess in Die Another Day at the London Film Convention on 16th September 2017. I got her to sign a copy of Starburst magazine featuring Die Another Day on the cover. She was lovely and I got to pass on my condolences for the recent loss of her father Sir Roger Moore.

Meeting John Wyman who played Eric Kriegler in For Your Eyes Only at the London Film Convention on 16th September 2017. I got him to sign a For Your Eyes Only souvenir brochure from Japan. He was a charming guy.

Meeting Vic Armstrong who has been a stuntman and second unit director on several Bond films at the London Film Convention on 16th September 2017. I got him to sign a Tomorrow Never Dies souvenir magazine from the UK. A great guy to meet and it was very funny listening to some of his stories.

Meeting Eunice Gayson who played Sylvia Trench in Dr No and From Russia With Love at the London Film Convention on 16th September 2017. I got her to sign a copy of John Barry Plays 007 on LP featuring an image of her and Sean Connery at the casino table in Dr No. It was a real pleasure to meet the very first Bond girl.

Meeting Jack Klaff who played Apostis in For Your Eyes Only at the London Film Convention on 16th September 2017. I got him to sign a copy of the For Your Eyes Only movie poster magazine. He was a delight and more than happy to talk, as you can see from the photo, still in mid conversation!.

Meeting Tania Mallet who played Tilly Masterson in Goldfinger at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got her to sign a Milton Bradley produced Goldfinger jigsaw puzzle box. She was a lovely lady and a delight to talk to.

Meeting Terence Mountain who played Raphael in On Her Majesty's Secret Service at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got him to sign a Spanish copy of Louis Armstrong's theme We Have All The Time In The World. He was a real character and more than willing to have a good old chat.

Meeting the golden girl herself Shirley Eaton who played Jill Masterson in Goldfinger at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got her to sign a French copy of Shirley Bassey's Goldfinger theme song. Such a lovely lady.

Meeting Virginia Hey who played Rubavitch in The Living Daylights at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got her to sign a copy of The Living Daylights poster magazine. She was really nice and very chatty.

Meeting Caroline Bliss who played Miss Moneypenny in The Living Daylights and Licence To Kill at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got her to sign a press screening ticket for Licence To Kill. Despite having her writing arm in cast she still came to the event because she didn't want to let the fans down, such a nice lady.

Meeting Maryam d'Abo who played Kara Milovy in The Living Daylights at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got her to sign a copy of Starburst magazine. She was very cool and it was great to meet one of the major stars of one of my favourite Bond films.

Meeting John Glen who directed five Bond films from 1981-1989 at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got him to sign a copy of the Duran Duran A View To A Kill theme song. John is a legend of the Bond community and it was a pleasure to meet him.

Meeting Jenny Hanley who played the Irish "angel of death" in On Her Majesty's Secret Service at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got her to sign a Japanese On Her Majesty's Secret Service programme. A lovely lady.

Meeting Sylvanna Henriques who played the Jamaican "angel of death" in On Her Majesty's Secret Service at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got her to sign the Japanese On Her Majesty's Secret Service programme as well as Jenny. A delightful lady, really warm and cheerful.

Meeting Stefan Kalipha who played Hector Gonzales in For Your Eyes Only at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got him to sign a For Your Eyes Only official souvenir brochure. A charming man.

Meeting John Moreno who played Luigi Ferrara in For Your Eyes Only at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got him to sign a copy of Film Review magazine. Such a nice gentleman and I spent quite a while chatting to him.

Meeting Valerie Leon who played the hotel receptionist in The Spy Who Loved Me and one of the Bond girls in Never Say Never Again at the London Film Convention on 17th September 2016. I got her to sign a Italian copy of Carly Simon's Nobody Does It Better theme song. A very nice lady.

Meeting Madeline Smith who played Miss Caruso in Live And Let Die at MCM Comic Con in Birmingham in 2016. I got her to sign a booklet of music from Live And Let Die and other James Bond film music. She was delightful and very willing to have a chat.

Meeting Catherine Schell who played Nancy in On Her Majesty's Secret Service at MCM Comic Con in Birmingham in 2016. I got her to sign a Japanese version of the We Have All The Time In The World single by Louis Armstrong. She was very nice.

Meeting Shane Rimmer who played Captain Carter in The Spy Who Loved Me, along with other roles in two other Bond films, at MCM Comic Con in Birmingham in 2016. I got him to sign a Japanese The Spy Who Loved me programme. He was fabulous to talk to and very generous with his time.

Meeting Brigitte Millar who played Dr Vogel in Spectre at MCM Comic Con in Birmingham in 2016. I got her to sign a copy of Cinema magazine with Spectre cover from Germany. She was delightful and it was great to hear her talk about the Spectre meeting room scene, one of my favourites from the film.

Meeting Margaret Nolan who played Dink in Goldfinger at MCM Comic Con in Birmingham in 2016. I got her to sign a copy of a music from Goldfinger EP from France. She was very pleasant.

Meeting Julian Glover who played Kristatos in For Your Eyes Only at Stars of Time in Weston-super-Mare in 2013. I got him to sign a Japanese version of the For Your Eyes Only poster. He was a lovely man, very willing to give up his time.

Meeting Caroline Munro who played Naomi in The Spy Who Loved Me at Stars of Time in Weston-super-Mare in 2013. I got her to sign a Lotus Esprit model car and also the American version of the soundtrack LP. She was fab.

Meeting the late Richard Kiel who played Jaws in The Spy Who Loved Me at Bond in Motion at Beaulieu in 2013. I got him to sign a box of Moonraker bubble gum cards and also a copy of his autobiography Making it Big in the Movies. Such a lovely gentle giant.
