10 Years Of Quantum
2018 sees the 10th anniversary of the release of Quantum Of Solace, Daniel Craig’s second outing as 007, and the first direct sequel in the Bond franchise following directly on from the events of Casino Royale. Now, it maybe short, with some super fast editing, a slightly annoying title song and the writers strike really didn’t help its script, but saying all of that it is still a film I really enjoy. The film also had a lot of merchandise produced for its release, from magazines from around the globe, to a first tie-in for Bond and Coke Zero and even a Bond girl fragrance produced by Avon. Here is a celebration of 10 years of Quantum and a showcase of all the items from that film that are in my collection. Set of ten James Bond cars as part of a promotion in Mexico. Five different cars were featured in packaging using two variations of the film poster artwork. The cars included were the Sunbeam Alpine from Dr No, the Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger, the Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me, the BMW Z3 from GoldenEye and the Aston Martin DBS from Quantum Of Solace. The second Lotus Esprit model is kindly signed by Caroline Munro who played Naomi in that film. (Waldos Dollar Imports, Mexico, 2010)
